Daniel Pineda Retires After UFC Vegas 99 Fight with Darren Elkins

Daniel Pineda retired from professional MMA after a unanimous decision loss to Darren Elkins at UFC Vegas 99, concluding his career with a record of 28-17 and three no-contests.


Daniel Pineda faced a tough battle against Darren Elkins at UFC Vegas 99. Even though he didn’t come out on top, he retired with flair on Saturday night.

With 43 professional fights under his belt, Pineda aimed to break a two-fight losing streak against Alex Caceres and Nathaniel Wood. He delivered an epic showdown with Elkins in the main card opener at the UFC APEX.

Elkins emerged victorious, securing a unanimous 29-28 decision. This win marked his first streak in over three years, a year after defeating TJ Brown. Meanwhile, Pineda ended his octagon journey with three consecutive losses.

“That was my last one, man,” Pineda declared post-fight. “We’re some dogs in here, and this is my third straight loss. F*ck it, dude, I’m done. I’m done guys. Thank you, Elkins, for this badass fight.”

Pineda hangs up his gloves with a record of 28-17 and three no-contests. His career highlights include wins over Leonard Garcia, Johnny Bedford, and Herbert Burns.
