Darren Till criticized undefeated UFC middleweight Bo Nickal on social media, questioning his fighting abilities and competition quality despite Nickal’s successful MMA record, while also making personal jabs about Nickal’s cooking videos.
Darren Till sure knows how to choose his social media targets, doesn’t he?
This time, Bo Nickal, the undefeated UFC middleweight, is on the receiving end of Till’s jabs. The former welterweight contender took a swipe at Nickal last Thursday.
On Twitter, in response to Nickal sharing his future plans on YouTube, Till quipped, “The ginger ninja doesn’t even fight. Talks more than me and I talk a lot.”
The ginger ninja doesn’t even fight. Talks more than me and I talk a lot. #GingerNinja
He even shit talks me and hasn’t beat an opponent who’s record is a winning one
Proper ginger ninja
Yes his wrestling is good but his striking is appalling and his cooking videos make me… https://t.co/zIYMRLKTIO— DT (@darrentill2)
Curious timing for Till’s comments, considering Nickal is gearing up for his second fight of 2024. He’ll face Paul Craig at UFC 309 on Nov. 16 at Madison Square Garden. A three-time NCAA Division-I wrestling champ, Nickal boasts a perfect record since his pro MMA debut in 2022: 6-0 with almost all first-round finishes.
Yet, Till remains unimpressed by Nickal’s competition level or skill set.
“He even shit talks me and hasn’t beat an opponent who’s record is a winning one,” Till pointed out.
There’s some truth there. All of Nickal’s UFC foes had winning records pre-fight but none boasted over .500 in the octagon.
Even when complimenting Nickal’s skills, Till couldn’t resist slipping in some harsh critiques.
“Yes, his wrestling is good but his striking is appalling and his cooking videos make me want to stab myself to death,” he wrote.
Till’s motives are unclear as he’s not currently active in MMA. Once a UFC welterweight title challenger against Tyron Woodley at UFC 228—he was submitted in Round 2—Till parted ways with the UFC in February 2023.
These days, Till’s dipping his toes into boxing. He made a controversial debut win over Mohammad Mutie last July. Scheduled to face Julio César Chávez Jr. on July 20 during the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card—but that event got postponed to Nov. 15. Unfortunately, Till’s bout wasn’t rescheduled.
