Dillon Danis: Released from Bellator MMA Contract, Causes Major Buzz

Dillon Danis has been released from his contract with Bellator MMA and is now a free agent, with his future in MMA uncertain but possibly influenced by his relationship with Conor McGregor.

Dillon Danis, the renowned grappling champion, has become a free agent following his release from Bellator MMA, as confirmed by Bellator officials. This announcement came after Ariel Helwani initially reported the news on Twitter. Although Danis only competed twice under the Bellator banner, they were his only two professional MMA bouts. It is noteworthy, however, that his most recent fight dates all the way back to 2019. During those early stages of his career, he secured two submission wins against opponents who held a combined record of 5-8.

Unfortunately, injuries plagued Danis after his last fight, preventing him from making a comeback. Nevertheless, this setback did not deter him from entering the influencer boxing scene as a side venture. While he was unable to participate in his first scheduled fight against KSI, Danis did step into the ring for a six-round bout against Logan Paul. Regrettably, he encountered a disqualification after a lackluster performance. Danis, dissatisfied with the decision, appealed against it.

Throughout his journey, Danis has repeatedly expressed his aspiration to compete in the UFC. However, it remains uncertain if the promotion would show interest in a fighter with a 2-0 record who has been absent from MMA for over four years. Nevertheless, given his close friendship with UFC superstar Conor McGregor, the possibilities for future opportunities in MMA cannot be ruled out.
