Dillon Danis believes that someone should have been disqualified in his boxing debut against Logan Paul, but not himself, and he plans to submit an appeal to the athletic commission alleging multiple offenses by Paul.
Dillon Danis, although admitting that someone deserves disqualification in his boxing debut, believes it should not have been him. Taking part in his first fight since 2019, Danis gave a ludicrous performance against Logan Paul in the main event of Misfits Boxing’s Prime Card last Saturday. The match concluded with Danis being disqualified after attempting an illegal chokehold in the final round.
Since his loss, Danis has been far from silent, using social media to take shots at Paul, former UFC fighter Nate Diaz, and even proclaiming his move to the UFC. His latest tweet on Monday revealed his intentions to submit an appeal to the athletic commission, alleging “multiple offenses” on Paul’s part. However, it remains uncertain what these offenses entail, and whether Danis will genuinely follow through with a formal appeal.
The question of disqualification arose in response to a video depicting a member of Paul’s team entering the ring when Danis tried and failed to execute an illegal takedown. While the six-round boxing match left much to be desired from both fighters, Paul officially emerged as the victor, provided the result stands. Danis took to social media to boast that he had inflicted more damage on Paul during a pre-fight press conference, where he struck him with a microphone than Paul managed throughout the actual fight.
In his response, Danis criticized Paul for evading a jiu-jitsu expert for six rounds, mocking the latter’s claims of knocking him out early in the fight. Danis confidently asserted that given the opportunity to undergo a proper boxing camp, he would dominate Paul, given the latter’s apparent reluctance to engage fully in the bout. The saga continues as Danis pursues his grievances and Paul revels in his victory.
