Donald Cerrone is coming out of retirement to aim for 50 overall appearances in the UFC and WEC, planning to fight again after working on getting off TRT and peptides to re-enter the UFC drug-testing pool.
Looks like Donald Cerrone’s MMA retirement was short-lived.
After hanging up his gloves following a second-round submission loss to Jim Miller at UFC 276 in July 2022, “Cowboy” is back. That was his sixth straight loss in the octagon. But now? He’s aiming for 50 total appearances under the Zuffa banner, having already racked up 48 in the UFC and WEC, and 55 fights overall.

“I want to go back [to the UFC] and get two more fights,” Cerrone revealed. “When I retired, I told you I was getting my hair done and getting on steroids.”
“The number 50 has been sitting on my mind for a while.”
He’s been working with a company, taking TRT and a cocktail of peptides for years. Now, he’s prepping to ditch those to re-enter the UFC drug-testing pool.
“For all you people who are like, ‘Oh, what if you get on it, you can’t ever come off?’ Well, I now have to come off and piss clean.”
Once a UFC title challenger, Cerrone plans to “fight in a few months.” After retiring, he was inducted into the 2023 UFC Hall of Fame class. At 41, he’s still making waves—holding records like the most combined UFC/WEC post-fight bonuses with 23. Quite the legacy!
