Donald Cerrone Unveils Severe Injury While Preparing for Dana White’s Twisted Steel Ride

Donald Cerrone, a former UFC competitor, has suffered a fully torn bicep during a practice run for riding UFC CEO Dana White’s bull, Twisted Steel, at a Professional Bull Riders event.

Well, folks, it looks like Donald Cerrone won’t be hopping on Dana White’s treasured bull anytime soon. Not in the near future, at least.

Why, you ask?

Well, he was getting ready to ride White’s bull, Twisted Steel. This was for a Professional Bull Riders event coming up next month. But then, disaster struck.

In a recent Instagram post, Cerrone spilled the beans. During a practice run, he ended up with a fully torn bicep. Ouch!

“As y’all know,” he wrote, “I was set to ride [Dana White’s Twisted Steel] at the PBR world finals May 18.” But then, the unexpected happened. “I was just rushed into surgery with 100 percent bicep tear off the bone!!!”

Guess the old saying is true. Mess with the bull, and you might just get the horns.

But don’t worry, Cerrone fans. He’s not giving up. “This is not the end,” he assured. “I will rehab and get back after it.”

Post-surgery, the seasoned UFC competitor gave an update. He also shared a bit of the behind-the-scenes story of how the injury happened. And let’s just say, the bruising on his arm looked pretty gnarly.

Remember, “Cowboy” retired from MMA competition after a submission loss to Jim Miller. That was at UFC 276 in July 2022. It marked Cerrone’s sixth straight defeat.

The 41-year-old ended his career with a whopping 55 fights on record. 38 of those were in the UFC’s octagon. He also had another 10 for WEC.

Cerrone once vied for the UFC lightweight title. He’s also faced off against big names like Conor McGregor, Robbie Lawler, Jorge Masvidal, Darren Till, Nate Diaz, and countless others. All this during his 11-plus year run in the promotion.

But for now, it seems the bull riding will have to wait.
