Dovlet Yagshimuradov secured the light heavyweight title at the 2024 PFL World Championships by defeating Impa Kasangany in just 58 seconds with a first-round knockout, marking his seventh consecutive win and capping off a successful transition from Bellator to PFL.
Dovlet Yagshimuradov needed just 58 seconds to demolish Impa Kasanganay. He clinched the light heavyweight title at the 2024 PFL World Championships.
The Bellator veteran showed no fear. Kasanganay came out aggressive, mashing down on the gas pedal from the start. But Yagshimuradov had other plans.
During a furious exchange against the cage, a right hand slipped through and rattled Kasanganay. That punch completely changed the dynamic of the fight.
Kasanganay wobbled, and Yagshimuradov charged forward with a barrage of punches. Several stiff shots followed, including devastating uppercuts.
The referee rushed in to stop the contest just short of the one-minute mark in the opening round. It was over before it even began.
“I’m feeling good,” Yagshimuradov said about the win. “I’m very happy. It’s my family here. I’m champion this year!”
“This support means a lot for me,” he added. “That’s why we are doing this.”
“Impa is a very good fighter, but today, I was better than him,” he declared confidently.
The victory caps off a phenomenal year for Yagshimuradov. Moving from Bellator to PFL has certainly paid off.
He’s now on a seven-fight win streak. Quite impressive!
Yagshimuradov had a tough start in Bellator, facing former champion Corey Anderson in his debut. Another loss followed in his second appearance.
But he turned things around dramatically. Beating past PFL champion Rob Wilkinson earned him a ticket to the finals.
Now, with Kasanganay added to his resume after a blistering first-round knockout, he’s solidified his position as a formidable contender at 205 pounds.
