Drake Bets $250K on Nate Diaz to Win Over Jake Paul, Affirms Loyalty to Diaz Brothers

Hip-hop superstar Drake has placed a $250,000 bet on underdog Nate Diaz to win his boxing match against Jake Paul, a win that could net the rapper a $1 million payday.

Nate Diaz may be perceived as an underdog in his boxing bout against Jake Paul, but he certainly has substantial support behind him. High-profile hip-hop artist Drake is among those backing Diaz. In fact, Drake has shown his confidence in Diaz by placing a substantial bet of $250,000 in his favor. The main event fight is set to take place in Dallas this Saturday. If Diaz manages to pull off an unexpected win against Paul, Drake stands to gain a massive $1 million, based on current odds.

Underscoring his support for Diaz, Drake took to Instagram to share his thoughts. He posted a screen capture of his wager along with a caption that stated, “Jake is a dog but I can never bet against a Diaz brother. That’s just how I was raised.” The post and the wager reflect the fact that he is firmly in Diaz’s corner.

Big-money bets are nothing new for Drake, who has staked sizeable amounts on fights in the past. His betting fashion has mixed results, sometimes winning and other times costing him hundreds of thousands of dollars. A previous wager saw Drake placing an even bigger bet on Jake Paul during his fight against Tommy Fury back in February. On that occasion, he bet $400,000 hoping Paul would knock Fury out. However, the fight didn’t go as expected, with Paul ending up with a split decision loss to Fury, which was the first loss on his professional record. Reflecting on the bet, Paul humorously said it was due to the “Drake curse” and added that Drake has previously won more substantial amounts by betting on him.

However, this time around, Drake chose not to back Paul. Instead, he placed his bet on Diaz who, despite being an underdog since the fight’s announcement, has managed to secure Drake’s confidence. Drake’s substantial bet on Diaz not only echoes his support for the underdog but also stakes his belief in his ability to win.
