Featherweights Edson Barboza and Steve Garcia are set to face off at a UFC Fight Night event on February 22, with Barboza aiming to return to winning form and Garcia seeking to extend his knockout streak against the veteran fighter.
Featherweights Edson Barboza and Steve Garcia are set to clash at the upcoming UFC Fight Night event on Feb. 22. The location for this electrifying card? Still a mystery.
Multiple insiders with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Tuesday. So, mark your calendars!
Edson Barboza, a 36-fight veteran with 14 years in the UFC, is known as one of the nastiest strikers around. When he steps back into the octagon in early 2025, he’s eager to bounce back after a tough loss to Lerone Murphy in May—a Fight of the Night, no less.
Interestingly, that was Barboza’s third consecutive fight earning him a bonus. He snagged a Fight of the Night against Sodiq Yusuff and a Performance of the Night for his knockout over Billy Quarantillo. Quite the streak, right?
Meanwhile, Steve Garcia has been unstoppable, with five straight wins—all knockouts! The Jackson-Winklejohn fighter even scored a first-round finish over Kyle Nelson in September on short notice. Impressive stuff!
Garcia now aims to add a seasoned name like Barboza to his resume when they meet in February. Who will come out on top? Stay tuned!
