Elon Musk Rejects UFC’s Role in Possible Battle with Mark Zuckerberg

Elon Musk plans to stage a fight with Mark Zuckerberg on behalf of their foundations, without UFC involvement, and with the bout to take place at the Colosseum in Rome, honouring the history and culture of Italy, with proceeds going towards supporting veterans.

Elon Musk has his own unique plans for a possible face-off with Mark Zuckerberg and it does not involve the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) or its president, Dana White. Musk recently sent out a series of tweets stating that the proposed fight will be managed by their own foundations without any oversight from the UFC, the world’s largest mixed martial arts organization. These assertions came following statements made by Dana White suggesting involvement in organizing the fight, with claims that the highly-anticipated event could generate up to a billion dollars in revenue.

Dana White, in his interview on the ‘Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson’ podcast, confirmed that his discussions about this unexpected celebrity match were indeed, serious. He shared that both tech moguls were truly interested in going head-to-head in combat. In terms of venue, he revealed that there were talks about staging the fight in the historic Roman Colosseum and that he had even met with the Italian Minister of Culture’s team to discuss the feasibility of this spectacle.

However, Musk, seemingly keen on asserting his control over the event, has stated via Twitter that he has been in direct communications with the Prime Minister of Italy and the Minister of Culture, who have both agreed to allow the fight to take place in the iconic Colosseum. Committed to honoring the culture and history of Italy, he tweeted that the event will be made to “pay respect to the past and present of Italy.” Furthermore, Musk reaffirmed his previous statement that all profits from this one-of-a-kind event would be donated to support veterans. Interestingly, amidst all the hype and speculation, Zuckerberg has remained silent and has yet to issue any comments or responses on Musk’s latest tweets promoting their potential duel.
