Former UFC women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso broke her leg while training, potentially delaying her return to the octagon after recently losing her title to Valentina Shevchenko.
Alexa Grasso, the former UFC women’s flyweight champ, might be sidelined from the octagon for a bit.
Grasso took to Instagram on Monday, sharing that she broke her leg while training. She posted a photo showing herself with a crutch and her leg in a boot. Ouch!
She didn’t spill the beans on how long she’ll be out or when she might return to action. A mystery for now.
The 31-year-old recently lost her 125-pound title to Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 306 in September. It was a lopsided decision. This marked Grasso’s first defeat in five years, since her controversial loss to Carla Esparza in September 2019.
Grasso bounced back strong after that defeat, winning four straight fights. Her efforts earned her a shot at the UFC title, where she shocked everyone by submitting Shevchenko at UFC 285 in March 2023. They faced off again at Noche UFC six months later, ending in a split draw—a real nail-biter!
