Francis Ngannou is set to make his MMA return against Renan Ferreira in Saudi Arabia at the PFL’s Battle of the Giants, following an intense weigh-in face-off and nearly three years since his last fight.
Francis Ngannou and Renan Ferreira are gearing up for a showdown in Saudi Arabia. The former UFC heavyweight champ is making his MMA return at the PFL’s Battle of the Giants pay-per-view. This Saturday, he faces off against fellow knockout specialist Ferreira.
Both fighters made weight early Friday morning. During the ceremonial weigh-ins, tensions flared with an intense forehead-to-forehead staredown. It got heated quickly and needed to be separated. Check out the video below—it’s wild!
The intensity didn’t stop there. Dan Hardy chatted with both competitors. Ngannou locked eyes with Ferreira and laid out his prediction.
“I’ll let him know who is the king,” Ngannou declared confidently. He then challenged Ferreira directly, asking him who the king was. Ferreira shot back with a simple, “Problema.”
This will be Ngannou’s first MMA fight in almost three years. He left the UFC after defending his title at UFC 270 against Ciryl Gane in January 2022, deciding to become a free agent and vacate his heavyweight title.
