Henry Cejudo Recounts Wild Car Crash & Assault Incident

Henry Cejudo, a former two-division UFC champion, recently assisted in apprehending a hit-and-run driver who crashed into his neighbor’s yard and assaulted the homeowner, showcasing his skills outside the ring despite not having an upcoming fight.

Henry Cejudo may not have a fight lined up, but that doesn’t mean he’s sitting idle. Opportunities to showcase his skills seem to find him in unexpected ways.

On Saturday, Dylan Rush, Cejudo’s producer, shared an intriguing video. In it, the former two-division UFC champ recounts a wild neighborhood incident involving a car crash and an assault.

Check out the clip below. It’s something else.

Cejudo describes the scene: "Just like a group of teenagers maybe doing about 80 miles an hour," he said. "I was just coming out with my producer Dylan Rush, we happened to see this car go about 80 miles per hour pretty much, we heard an rrrrrr. Next thing you know this dude’s going up a ramp and he smashed into my neighbor’s yard."

The video from Rush shows the suspect being taken down, alongside a man—likely Cejudo’s neighbor—with a head wound. Apparently, the driver attacked the homeowner, prompting Cejudo to jump into action.

“The guy got up, tried to leave, and ended up assaulting the owner,” Cejudo explained. “Once he hit my neighbor I was like, ‘Alright man, all in.’ My neighbor’s in his 60s; I had to go out there and pick [the suspect] up and drop him, slapped him a little bit, and some of the neighbors took some clocks at him.”

Rush also shared his perspective on Instagram:

"Henry Cejudo just apprehended a Hit N Run driver that attempted to flee the scene."

The driver was speeding at 80 MPH through a residential area before crashing into a house across from Cejudo’s place. After exiting the vehicle, he tried to make a run for it.

When the 65-year-old homeowner intervened, the driver assaulted him. But before he could get away, Cejudo chased him down and slammed him on his back. The situation escalated until another neighbor brandished a gun, convincing the driver to cooperate with police.

Cejudo’s last fight was at UFC Seattle in February. He lost to Song Yadong after an eye poke forced a technical decision—tough break. Since returning from retirement in 2023, he’s faced three consecutive losses.

With lingering effects from the eye injury, Cejudo has been candid about possibly retiring again. Who knows what’s next for him?
