UFC fighter Natan Levy sparred with an online troll who came to Las Vegas in defense of white supremacist Nick Fuentes, teaching him a lesson about inappropriate conduct online and the real-life consequences of his words and actions.
UFC fighter Natan Levy issued a heavy-handed reminder that “words have consequences” in a face-off with an online troll who publicly pledged to defend the honor of notorious white supremacist Nick Fuentes. The challenge, which caught the attention of 31-year-old Levy, arose from a disagreement on social media. The Israeli-born lightweight who relocated to the United States for his MMA career decided to respond to the offender and his unsolicited, racially charged tirade rather seriously.
Levy expounded on the experience during an interview, expressing disappointment at the derogatory language used to vilify people of different cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds. He explained that the troll had tagged him in a tweet, flexing his triceps and boasting about defeating anyone due to his race. This was not the first time someone had employed racist rhetoric online, but Levy, who is well-aware of Fuentes’ pronounced disdain for Jewish communities and admiration of Adolf Hitler, chose not to let this incident slide. Responding to the white supremacist’s veiled challenge, a third person even pledged to spar with Levy in defense of Fuentes’ honor.
A few days later, the individual, Ben, turned up at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas ready for a match. Before initiating the fight, Levy took precious time to understand why Ben held Fuentes in such high esteem. Although the young man had been vocal about his support for Fuentes online, he sang a different tune in person. Levy, initially skeptical about whether Ben would keep his end of the bargain, commended Ben’s guts but hastily condemned his defective worldview. Despite Ben’s insistence on having been playing a prank with his bigoted commentary online, Levy emphasized that every action and word, online or offline, is subject to consequences.
Further interaction revealed that Ben’s ignorance on sensitive topics like the Holocaust left a lot to be desired. It frustrated Levy even more to see that Ben was only parroting the misinformation he had learned from Fuentes. Unsurprisingly, when the fight commenced, it went as one would expect. Levy essentially played around with his untrained opponent before effortlessly overpowering him with punches and forcing him to the ground, at which point Ben began to apologize profusely. While the sparring could have been more brutal, Levy chose to teach Ben a valuable lesson about responsibility and respect, and implore him to seek better role models.
The bout concluded with Levy voicing his disgust for Nick Fuentes. He believes Fuentes, despite his loud mouth, lacks bravery and is incapable of defending his honor. Levy even accused him of disowning and ridiculing Ben online to distance himself from the embarrassing situation.
