Ian Machado Garry accused Michael Page of attempting to bribe someone in his camp for information ahead of their UFC 303 fight, leading to a heated exchange and Garry’s claim that Page could be banned from the sport.
Just before the UFC 303 pre-fight press conference wrapped up, Ian Machado Garry dropped a bombshell accusation. He claimed it would get Michael Page banned from the sport.
Seems far-fetched, right? But that didn’t stop Garry. He launched into a tirade against the former Bellator fighter after their on-stage spat.
At first, Garry just taunted Page with a vague threat. The veteran fighter, also known for his BKFC stint, looked puzzled.
“I’ve already broken this man’s confidence,” Garry shouted. “You know what I’m talking about. Your self-confidence is f*cked.”
“It will come out,” he continued. “Your brain is scurrying for excuses. Do you want to say it or should I?”
Page laughed in his face. Garry then accused him of trying to bribe someone in his camp for info ahead of UFC 303.
Accusations of “moles” in MMA camps aren’t new. But Garry took it further, suggesting Page offered money and got nothing in return.
“Did you offer thousands to get info from Chute Boxe?” Garry asked. “You couldn’t infiltrate us; the Chute Boxe family is too tight.”
“Your rat jiu-jitsu coach offered money to my Brazilian friends and got zilch,” he added. “Saturday night, you’re f*cked.”
Garry then hinted at lifetime bans for Page and his unnamed coach if proven true.
“You and your jiu-jitsu coach are getting suspended for life,” he declared.
A lifetime ban? Dubious at best. The crowd started chanting “MVP” as Page fired back.
“This guy’s hilarious,” Page said. “The one and only ‘MVP’ is here at the UFC, ready to make some noise.”
Garry kept chirping on the mic, but Page had enough.
“Shut the f*ck up!” he shouted back.
Their faceoff was intense moments later. UFC CEO Dana White had to step in and separate them before things escalated further.
