Islam Makhachev Dominates Adin Ross with Body Punch & Twister Submission

Islam Makhachev prepares for a challenging rematch against Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 311, following a playful but impactful sparring session with streamer Adin Ross.

So, Islam Makhachev’s got a way tougher challenge at UFC 311 than what he faced with streamer Adin Ross. No doubt about it.

With just days to go until his rematch against Arman Tsarukyan in L.A., the UFC lightweight champ stepped into the cage with Ross. The streamer was curious—wanted to know how it feels to take a body shot from the top pound-for-pound fighter in the game.

Gotta hand it to Ross; he suited up in a full body protector before Makhachev let loose his punch. Still, you could tell he felt that impact.

“Oh my god,” Ross yelled right after the punch landed. Sounded like he was in shock.

Then, Makhachev decided to showcase what’s arguably his deadliest weapon—a submission on the ground. He twisted Ross up like a pretzel, then went for a Twister. Quite the spectacle!

Ross grimaced as Makhachev joked, “I just want to hug you … you don’t know how to tap?” Classic Makhachev humor there.

Moments later, Ross tapped out. Makhachev just smiled, helping the popular streamer realize MMA isn’t as simple as it looks on TV.

Now onto the real battle: Makhachev aims to defend his lightweight title for the fourth time straight. If successful, he’ll set a new UFC record. Currently, he’s tied with his coach and mentor Khabib Nurmagomedov at three defenses. Khabib will be in his corner next Saturday at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles for the fight against Tsarukyan.
