Jake Paul Responds to Nate Diaz’s Late Boxing Match Guillotine Choke: He Choked Me!

Jake Paul, after a boxing match with Nate Diaz, expressed interest in an MMA rematch and promised to improve his submission defense, despite being potentially a massive underdog, confirming he is serious about a $10 million fight offer with PFL.

Jake Paul, a boxing contender, has expressed interest in a rematch with Nate Diaz, but this time in the world of MMA, Mixed Martial Arts. However, considering the incidents of their last boxing face-off on Saturday, he may need to brush up his defense against submissions. During the final round of their fight, Diaz briefly caught Paul in a guillotine choke while they were in a clinch. Even though Diaz quickly let him go and taunted him for a while, the moment was a sharp reminder for Paul, who spent much of the pre-fight lead-up expressing interest in an MMA rematch.

Paul was left somewhat surprised but rather unbothered by the choke. Sharing his thoughts during the post-match press conference, Paul quipped, “He f***** choked me! He was actually choking me. I was like, this is crazy! I didn’t think he was going to stop but he had it in. Obviously, I’m not going to try to defend it, but it’s just funny. I was like, this is crazy.” Nonetheless, Paul, who has signed with Professional Fighters League (PFL), is serious about crossing over to MMA with Diaz as his preferred first opponent.

While he performed well in their boxing encounter, a rematch in MMA might prove to be a challenge. Given the circumstances, he could very well start as a serious underdog against Diaz in the MMA field. Yet, Paul remains firm about accepting the challenge, including the $10 million purse he’s offered Diaz for an MMA outing. To make things more interesting, Paul stated that he did have a response to Diaz’s guillotine choke attempt during their boxing match, but couldn’t use it due to the rules of the sport. His strategy would differ in MMA, as he stated, “That’s why I want to do it back in MMA. It’s fun. I’m with all that s***. If it was MMA, I would have dropped to a double-leg, picked him up and dropped him on his head.”
