Jake Paul Secures Knockdown Against Nate Diaz, Wins by Unanimous Decision

Jake Paul won a unanimous decision victory against Nate Diaz in his professional boxing debut, despite Diaz’s continual offensive and resilience, with the judges scoring the fight 98-91, 98-91 and 97-92 in Paul’s favor.

Jake Paul entered the boxing ring against Nate Diaz with determination, throwing an overwhelming amount of punches at Diaz early on. Although coming off his first loss against Tommy Fury in February, Paul was undeterred, especially exhibiting dominance in the fifth round when he cracked Diaz with a left hook that left the UFC veteran laid out. However, Diaz’s resilience was on full display as he quickly got back on his feet and continued to not only withstand Paul’s persistent onslaught but also manage to give the Dallas crowd a good show.

Despite Diaz’s courage, he was unable to secure a win. The judges scored the fight 98-91, 98-91 and 97-92, accrediting the win to Paul. This victory notched Paul’s career number to 7-1. Appreciative of his competitor, Paul shared, “He’s tough. He’s real tough, that’s what he’s known for. I knocked him down, won basically every round but he’s a warrior.” Throughout the match, Paul kept launching aggressive attacks while Diaz responded with his signature volume striking. There were tense moments for Diaz, especially when he was catapulted by a nasty hook from Paul that nearly knocked him through the ropes.

Despite the setbacks, Diaz managed to regain control and even dealt Paul a couple of staggering uppercuts in the eighth round. Nevertheless, Paul held his own, making grueling comebacks, even forcing Diaz to favor his right eye due to the bruising. In the aftermath of the match, both fighters reciprocated respect for each other’s effort. Diaz acknowledged Paul’s toughness and size and expressed his desire to have performed better. As for Paul, he declared his intention to challenge Diaz in the MMA cage and a potential rematch with Fury. Despite Paul’s taunting challenge, Diaz remained undaunted, affirming his readiness to face anyone in the MMA.
