Jake Paul was disappointed after a potential fight with Canelo Alvarez fell through due to Alvarez signing with a Saudi Arabian promotion, leaving Paul without a major opponent and rejecting suggestions to fight fellow YouTuber KSI, as he seeks a match against a professional boxer.
Jake Paul was understandably upset. He thought he had a massive showdown with Canelo Alvarez in the bag. But just before announcing, it all fell apart.
Contracts were ready, and Netflix was on board. This fight was going to be huge for him. Then, out of nowhere, Canelo signed with Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season. Ouch.
Jake shared his disappointment on Logan Paul’s YouTube channel. “Pretty shitty,” he admitted. The deal felt so close, yet slipped away.
He described how everything seemed set. Nakisa Bidarian had even signed with Netflix. “I’m pissed,” Jake vented, clearly frustrated.
As news broke about Canelo’s new deal, Jake went nuclear. He accused Canelo of negotiating in bad faith in a viral video message.
Since then? Jake’s been pretty quiet about his next move. Though retail therapy helped—he bought a private plane recently.
Who’s next for Jake? That’s unclear. But don’t expect him to go back to influencer boxing anytime soon.
Logan suggested KSI as an opponent. They’re partners on Prime Energy drinks after all. But Jake wasn’t interested.
“I want a real boxer,” he declared. “That’s why I wanted the deadliest boxer.”
KSI is busy anyway, prepping for Dillon Danis in March. Even if he wins, Jake’s not likely to care much.
Last time Jake fought was last November. He beat Mike Tyson by unanimous decision—over 100 million watched on Netflix.
In a world full of unpredictability, who knows what’s next for Jake? Stay tuned.
