Jamahal Hill Unimpressed by Alex Pereira’s UFC 307 Win

Despite Alex Pereira‘s recent victory and successful title defenses, Jamahal Hill was not impressed by his performance at UFC 307 and remains eager to face Pereira again, focusing on the fight rather than reclaiming the belt.

Alex Pereira didn’t exactly wow Jamahal Hill at UFC 307.

Over the weekend, Pereira snagged his third win of 2024. He defended his light heavyweight title with a fourth-round TKO against Khalil Rountree Jr. Hill, present at the event, was caught yawning mockingly on camera, leading Pereira to poke fun at him during the post-fight press conference. But Hill? He’s standing firm.

“It’s wild how y’all see a clip with zero context and just jump to conclusions,” Hill remarked on his YouTube channel. “Seriously, it’s funny… I never said the fight was boring…”

“The fight was entertaining. There were challenges, adjustments, and strategy shifts. I’ve gotta give Alex props for adapting his game plan until he secured the win,” Hill admitted.

“About that yawn… Was it entertaining? Sure. Was I impressed? Nope. Nothing in the cage surprised or scared me.”

Back in April at UFC 300, Pereira knocked Hill out in the first round. Since then, the former champ hasn’t stopped trying to provoke “Poatan.” And Hill seems keen to keep that going.

“Honestly, I’m glad Alex came out on top,” Hill confessed. “I want him to be seen as a giant when we meet again.”

“Right now, I don’t care if he fights Magomed Ankalaev next and loses. That’s the fight I’m after. Not the belt, just that fight.”

Since UFC 300, Pereira has added two more knockouts to his record—defending his title against Jiri Prochazka and now Rountree. Meanwhile, Hill hasn’t returned to the cage since his loss but promises action soon.

“What’s next? A contract’s already coming my way,” Hill teased. “Touch-Em-Up University will be back in session soon.”
