Javon Walton Honors Euphoria Co-Star Angus Cloud, Shifts Focus to Boxing Career

Euphoria star Javon Walton is still coming to terms with the unexpected death of his co-star Angus Cloud, and plans to take a step back from acting to focus on his boxing career, which he aims to turn professional by 2024.

Javon Walton is still coming to terms with the death of his friend and Euphoria co-star, Angus Cloud. In the aftermath of the unexpected demise of the 25-year-old actor, Walton has referred to Cloud as “forever family”. Throughout two seasons of HBO’s hit series Euphoria, the actors, who earned commendation for their roles, spent significant time together during scenes. “It was all really, really hard for us,” Walton shared, adding that everyone had a deep connection with Angus. Describing him as the “nicest guy ever”, Walton expressed hope that Cloud was leading a better life now.

Walton and Cloud’s journey to stardom on the series Euphoria began under unusual circumstances. Cloud got his role as Fezco, a kind-hearted drug dealer, when a casting director approached him on a New York street for an audition for an HBO series. He shared his scenes with series star Zendaya and Maude Apatow during the second season. On the other hand, Walton landed his part on Euphoria after featuring on a talk show to promote his budding boxing career as a teenager, boasting an impressive amateur record. Initially, neither Cloud nor Walton considered acting as a career but they both soon found themselves enthralling audiences on one of HBO’s most critically acclaimed series.

Walton, who has spent 13 years of his life boxing, clarified that his foray into acting originated from his boxing career. After appearing on The Steve Harvey Show to showcase his boxing talent, a casting director expressed interest in his potential for acting. Walton, who had just celebrated his 17th birthday, had decided to concentrate fully on boxing after signing a representation deal with Most Valuable Promotions, co-founded by Jake Paul and business partner Nakisa Bidarian.

While Walton promises to return to acting in the future, he confirmed that boxing has always been his primary passion, and this remains unchanged. He has participated in 85 amateur bouts and believes it is his strongest suit. With a goal to complete 100 amateur bouts before turning 18 in 2024, Walton is eager to make his professional boxing debut. He conceded that acting will have to take a backseat, if only temporarily, as he concentrates on his boxing career. “For now, I’m definitely taking a step back [from acting] and just focusing on boxing. I’ve got to do what I love at the end of the day,” Walton concluded.
