Jean Silva, known for his aggressive fighting style and desire to disfigure opponents, is set to face Melsik Baghdasaryan at UFC Seattle, expressing confidence in his ability to dominate the featherweight division and calling out potential future opponents like Bryce Mitchell and Josh Emmett.
Jean Silva carved a massive cut over Drew Dober‘s right eye, forcing a doctor stoppage in his last UFC appearance. Now, he’s promising to inflict even more damage as he steps back into the octagon.
“Lord” is set to face Melsik Baghdasaryan at UFC Seattle, returning to featherweight. He believes he’s a unique fighter, unlike any before him in the sport’s history.
“Melsik talks too much,” Silva shared with MMA Fighting. “Beating him up will be really satisfying.” Silva sees himself as a new kind of villain, likening himself to legends like Conor McGregor and Anderson Silva but with a twist—he aims to disfigure opponents.
Silva claims there’s never been someone quite like him in the UFC. “People fear how they’ll look after fighting me,” he said. His confidence is palpable, almost tangible.
Baghdasaryan enters with an 8-2 record, but Silva dismisses it. “He’s already 8-3,” Silva declared. On fight night, Baghdasaryan will realize he’s already lost.
Silva respects Baghdasaryan’s kickboxing skills but feels his own MMA game is superior. “It’s not nice to be hurt by the Lord,” he quipped, hinting at his brutal style.
Every fight sends a message to the division, according to Silva. For Melsik, the upcoming bout might be a harsh reality check. Silva seems puzzled why Baghdasaryan agreed to this fight.
Previously missing weight against Charles Jourdain pushed Silva to lightweight temporarily. Back at featherweight now, he’s open to future lightweight bouts if they intrigue him.
“In my weight class, I’ll beat everybody up,” Silva asserted confidently. He knows people are waiting for him to stumble but insists he’s unbeatable—his only rival is himself.
Not one for calling out opponents post-victory, Silva prefers letting his fists do the talking. Yet, he admits Bryce Mitchell could use a lesson in humility.
Fans have been clamoring for a Silva vs. Mitchell showdown on social media. But Silva doesn’t beg for fights; he just beats people until no one wants to face him.
If he had to choose based on rankings, Josh Emmett would be an ideal opponent. However, Silva is ready for anyone—even newcomers from the Contender Series—to step up and face him in the cage.
