Jeremy Stephens Open to Future Boxing Match with Conor McGregor or Nate Diaz

After a draw with UFC legend Jose Aldo, Jeremy Stephens is eager to further his boxing career, with his next fight being against Chris Avila in the pay-per-view event Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz; he also expresses potential interest in future bouts with McGregor or Diaz.

Jeremy Stephens is eager to push ahead with his boxing career after a drawn out battle with UFC legend Jose Aldo in April. Up next, he’s slated to take part in the Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz pay-per-view event, where he will face off against Diaz’s long-time training partner, Chris Avila. The fight is seen as a potential springboard to bigger and better opportunities in Stephens’ future.

In his journey to become the best boxer he could be, Stephens admits he is still mastering the boxing technique. Despite his extensive MMA career, he acknowledges the need for a gradual and steady approach to his new stint. He is particularly excited about the chance to compete against other MMA fighters transitioning to boxing, deeming his fight against Aldo, who also switched from MMA to boxing, as a logical move.

Notably, the possibility of a face-off against Conor McGregor, who made a bold entry into boxing with a bout against Floyd Mayweather in 2017, is often discussed. Following his draw against Aldo, Stephens caught the attention of McGregor. Their past rivalry was reignited over social media, with McGregor proposing the idea of a match. About the possibility of these fights happening, Stephens said, “I’ve always said I match up great with a guy like him. I can take a f****** shot. I do neck rolls like f****** ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. I’ve got a jaw. I’ve got vicious power. Hands. Speed. Experience.”

In addition to a potential bout with McGregor, Stephens is open to taking on any other prominent names, including Nate Diaz, scheduled to make his boxing debut against Paul. When addressing Diaz, who he believes stands a decent chance against Paul despite Paul’s 6-1 boxing record with four knockouts, Stephens offered words of admiration. He believes that Diaz, despite possibly lacking the explosive power of Paul, might have the winning edge due to his experience in big fights and his tenacity as a “true f****** fighter”, being able to withstand Paul’s attacks. If given the chance, Stephens would be excited to face Diaz in the ring, especially since they had spent years together in the UFC roster without a bout.
