John Fury Absent from Tyson vs Usyk Rematch Corner

Tyson Fury will face Oleksandr Usyk in a heavyweight championship rematch without his father, John Fury, in his corner, focusing on the fight by limiting distractions and emphasizing his intent to defeat Usyk at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Tyson Fury won’t have a familiar face in his corner this Saturday. For his heavyweight championship rematch against Oleksandr Usyk, his camp confirmed with DAZN that John Fury, Tyson’s father, will be absent.

During Wednesday’s open workout, SugarHill Steward, Fury’s trainer, confirmed the lineup. “The corner will be me, Andy Lee (the assistant trainer), and the cutman,” Steward said.

John Fury had a fiery encounter before their first meeting in May. He head-butted a member of Usyk’s team, ending up bloodied himself. That bout in Saudi Arabia? Usyk handed Fury his first pro loss via split decision, claiming the undisputed heavyweight champion title.

Fury seems laser-focused now. At Wednesday’s open workouts, he trolled fans by not working out. When questioned by DAZN reporters, he only spoke about the damage he plans to inflict on Usyk—nothing else mattered.

This rematch is set to headline an event at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The same iconic venue as their first clash.
