Ahead of his son Tyson Fury’s championship bout against Oleksandr Usyk, John Fury headbutted a member of Usyk’s team during a heated confrontation.
John Fury’s in a feisty mood. His son’s championship fight’s just around the corner, you see.
The Fury family’s gearing up for a showdown this Saturday. Tyson Fury, the WBC heavyweight champ, is set to take on Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk’s got a few titles under his belt too – WBA, IBF, IBO, and The Ring heavyweight champion. It’s a unification bout that’s got everyone on edge.
John, Tyson’s dad, has already thrown the first punch. Well, not literally.
It was a headbutt, actually. And it was his own blood that was drawn.
Here’s what happened. John found himself in a bit of a squabble with Usyk’s fans on Monday. Things got heated, and John decided to headbutt one of Usyk’s team members. The aftermath? A bloody forehead for John.
There’s footage of the scuffle, thanks to iFL TV. You can check it out from two different angles.
In one of the clips, you’ll see Shane Fury, John’s other son, leaving an interview to see what the fuss is about. You get a clear view of John’s headbutt. You can hear him shouting, “We can’t be beat!” before he’s held back to prevent another brawl.
John’s no stranger to this kind of thing. He used to be a pro boxer, and he’s known for getting involved in his sons’ rivalries. Remember when he went shirtless and dared Jake Paul to fight him in the ring? That was back in November 2022. Paul was having a feud with Tommy Fury, John’s other son. And let’s not forget when John challenged Mike Tyson to a fight during the build-up for Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou last October.
There’s another angle of the headbutt, courtesy of Serge Lapin. You can check that out too.
The big fight’s happening this Saturday. Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk. It’s at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Don’t miss it.
