Johnny Eblen vs Fabian Edwards 2 Headlines Bellator London in September

Johnny Eblen will defend his Bellator middleweight title against Fabian Edwards in a rematch headlining Bellator London on September 14, following Eblen’s previous third-round TKO victory over Edwards.

Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards are set to clash again in September for the Bellator middleweight title. The promotion announced on Wednesday that Eblen will defend his 185-pound title against Edwards in a rematch at Bellator London. This event is scheduled for Sept. 14 at OVO Wembley.

Their first encounter was at Bellator 299 last September. Eblen emerged victorious with a third-round TKO in what was a competitive bout.

Eblen, now 32, will be defending his championship for the third time. He claimed the title with a dominant decision win over Gegard Mousasi at Bellator 282 in June 2022.

Since then, Eblen has successfully defended his belt against both Edwards and Anatoly Tokov. In his latest fight, he faced Impa Kasanganay at February’s PFL vs. Bellator card in Saudi Arabia, securing a hard-fought split decision win to improve to 15-0.

Edwards, who is 31 and the brother of UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, earned another shot at the title after defeating Aaron Jeffery by unanimous decision at Bellator Belfast in March. Edwards boasts a 4-1 record in his past five fights, including victories over Mousasi and former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida.

The stage is set for an exciting rematch between these two top contenders. Fans eagerly await to see if Eblen can maintain his undefeated streak or if Edwards will claim the middleweight gold this time around.
