UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has offered to be a training partner for Mark Zuckerberg if he decides to fight Elon Musk, after the two exchanged banter about a potential cage battle.
If Mark Zuckerberg is serious about fighting Elon Musk, he just scored some of the best possible backup to prepare for the battle ahead. UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, widely regarded as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, threw his support behind the co-creator of Facebook and the CEO of Meta if he plans to battle Musk in the cage. Jones dropped his message on Twitter after Zuckerberg and Musk started bantering back and forth about a potential fight. “You already know I am Team Zuck,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “Let me know if you need a training partner!”
Interestingly, Jones chose to voice his support for Zuckerberg on Twitter, which Musk purchased for $44 billion. Zuckerberg, on the other hand, earned his fortune by creating Facebook with college friends, several of whom later filed lawsuits against him, inspiring the film The Social Network.
Zuckerberg has recently caught the Brazilian jiu-jitsu bug and even participated in a competition under the guidance of renowned grappling specialist Dave Camarillo. Additionally, he has trained with ONE grappling champion Mikey Musumeci, adding to the list of people willing to help him prepare for Musk. While Zuckerberg seems to have a combat sports experience advantage, Musk has a size advantage, being six inches taller and around 30 to 40 pounds heavier.
If a compromise can be made, Zuckerberg and Musk appear serious about pursuing an actual fight between them, with UFC president Dana White already expressing interest in promoting the event.
