Jon Jones & Ciryl Gane React to Tom Aspinall’s UFC London Call-outs

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former titleholder Ciryl Gane responded to rising contender Tom Aspinall‘s aim to beat the winner of the clash between Gane and Serghei Spivac and dethrone Jones, who is set to defend his title against Stipe Miocic.

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former interim titleholder Ciryl Gane reacted swiftly to the comments made by Tom Aspinall. Aspinall, an emerging prospect in the heavyweight division, had quickly disposed of Marcin Tybura in a major UFC event in London. He knocked out his seasoned competitor in a mere 73 seconds, emerging victorious. Aspinall stated his future objectives unequivocally post the event – he intends to head to Paris for the main event face-off between Gane and Serghei Spivac, subsequently defeating the triumphant contender to secure a title shot and overthrow reigning champion Jones.

Jones had beaten Gane to clinch the vacant title and is slated for a return to the ring on November 11th to protect his title. He is scheduled to face Stipe Miocic in the chief event encounter of UFC 295 to be held in New York. Jones used Twitter as a platform to respond to the rising star Aspinall’s comments, however, the content of his tweet wasn’t revealed in the initial report.

Conversely, Gane seems to be geared up to make a comeback from the loss he faced against Jones when he headlines UFC Paris event scheduled for September 2nd. He will be up against Spivac, who has had an impressive run, finishing off three opponents consecutively since his 2021 defeat to Aspinall. Gane lauded Aspinall for his impressive performance but did not shy away from issuing a warning. He tweeted, “Great performance Tom, careful what you wish for. See you in Paris.”
