We may be in 2020 but what started as Twitter beef between Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya has poured into the new year.
@JonnyBones …
Who called who out first?!
Keep my name out your mouth!!
I'm still working through 185, so sure you may have the better percentage "right now". I'm getting better and better and better at a rapid rate. Your time will come when I say so.#iwontdelete— Israel Adesanya (@stylebender)
Both men had phenomenal 2019 campaigns ending the year as champions in their division. Jones will return to the ring against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 while Adesanya is expected to battle Yoel Romero March 7th. At UFC 243 Israel Adesanya had a memorial walkout which Jon Jones took quick notice of and took a shot at Adesanya.
All I hear is “I’m a bitch, I dance better than Jones.” Oh and some weird shit about big American balls in your mouth.

Adesanya was quick to respond, stating on ESPN’s Ariel Hewani Show “He is jealous that the freshmen are taking all of the shine.” This pretty much ended the 2019 war of words.
Well, Israel Adesanya was on the Ariel Hewani 1st show of 2020 and delivered an onslaught on Jon Jones. Adesanya first responded to Jones mocking him of his walkout.
“That’s another thing Jon Jones said, mother (expletive) Jones. He says people will remember my accolades rather than my walkout.”
He later took a shot at Jones cheating allegations once again, “Well people will remember my accolades because you are a steroid cheat. You are a drug cheat and that’s what people will remember. Everything, you’ve done after Shogun (2011), is irrelevant. You popped in the same month as your brother in 2016. My walkout will be far better than his own career”.
“Jones is a boomer, he’s old, washed up. Walkouts to Knockouts, You’re Welcome,” Adesanya said to conclude the interview.
Israel Adesanya reassures fans that the Jones fight will happen. “Eventually we will see each other. I still have never seen him in a room together and I wonder why. But eventually, we will see each other just like everyone else”.
I guess we will have to wait until 2021 as Adesanya has claimed that’s when the fight will take place. In the meantime, we can be sure to enjoy the social media war between the two.
