Jon Jones took to Twitter to mock Colby Covington after Covington criticized him and then lost his fight against Joaquin Buckley, with Jones finding amusement in Covington’s excuses and failures.
Jon Jones picked the perfect moment to fire back at Colby Covington.
Before UFC Tampa last Saturday, Covington let loose on Jones during a media scrum. He called the heavyweight champ names, including a “f*cking disgrace to this Earth.” Covington faced Joaquin Buckley in the main event and lost by TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage in the third round.
Come Monday night, Jones took to Twitter, delivering his own set of jabs and kicks aimed at Covington.
Big shoutout to Colby Covington for skipping training to get President Trump ‘ready’—we all appreciate the sacrifice At least he got to see me win

“Big shoutout to Colby Covington for skipping training to get President Trump ‘ready,’ we all appreciate the sacrifice,” Jones tweeted. “At least he got to see me win.”
After losing, Covington claimed he had no training camp and was “off the couch.” He thought the fight with Buckley was tied at one round each going into the third. Despite that, all three judges scored the first two rounds for Buckley.
With Covington now having lost two in a row and three out of four, Jones kept up his trolling on Twitter, even engaging with fans.
“That’s what I find most hilarious,” Jones said when a fan mentioned Covington’s excuses. “Listening to what he’s going to come up with next after getting his ass whooped.”
A fan advised Jones not to acknowledge Covington or his words—especially since he’s a world champ. But Jones admitted he couldn’t resist.
“I know I shouldn’t, but it’s just so much fun,” Jones confessed. “It’s amusing watching someone you know [hates] you fail repeatedly.”
