Jon Jones Reacts to Ngannou’s Knockout at PFL Battle

Jon Jones praised Francis Ngannou‘s impressive return to MMA, highlighting his complete skill set and congratulating him on his victory over Renan Ferreira at the PFL event.

Jon Jones kept an eye on Francis Ngannou’s MMA comeback—and he was seriously impressed. Ngannou took the spotlight at PFL’s Battle of the Giants pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia, battling Renan Ferreira. The former UFC heavyweight champ made quick work of Ferreira, unleashing a ferocious ground and pound that left his opponent out cold.

Jones hopped onto Twitter to sing Ngannou’s praises. His tweet was full of admiration for Ngannou’s performance. “What an amazing job Francis did tonight,” he wrote. “Displayed a complete MMA game. Great kicks, great takedowns.”

He didn’t stop there. “It feels good to see him shine,” Jones continued. “Wow, congratulations Champ, I see you.” It’s clear Jones respects what Ngannou brings to the cage.

For years, fans buzzed about a potential showdown between Ngannou and Jones. But then Ngannou made a bold move—he left the UFC and vacated his title. Meanwhile, Jones squared off against Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 in March 2023, snagging a swift submission victory to claim his second divisional title.

Ngannou, aka “The Predator,” returned to MMA after a lengthy break of nearly three years. During his time away, he ventured into boxing, facing Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua but unfortunately lost both bouts.

Looking ahead, Jones is set to defend his title against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 next month at Madison Square Garden. Will it be another iconic clash? Only time will tell!
