Jorge Masvidal is willing to put the ‘BMF Belt’ on the line again after building a winning streak.
Jorge Masvidal, the current holder of the ‘BMF’ belt, is willing to put his title on the line again in future fights. Originally, the belt was created for a one-off fight between Masvidal and Nate Diaz at UFC 244. However, Masvidal revealed in a pre-fight press conference that he would be willing to defend his title after he has managed to string together a series of wins.
During the press conference, Masvidal stated that there are many ‘baddest motherf**kers’ in the sport and therefore, there is still a lot of competition for him to face. He is currently on a three-fight losing streak, which is to be expected considering he has fought against former champions Kamaru Usman twice and top contender Colby Covington. Masvidal’s next fight is against Gilbert Burns, the No. 5 ranked fighter, in the co-main event of UFC 287.
Masvidal stated that he wants to get back to winning and to knock people’s heads off before he puts the title back up for grabs. This suggests that he is determined to defend his title but wants to build momentum before doing so.
There is no doubt that the ‘BMF’ title has become an important fixture in the world of MMA. Fans have been quick to embrace this concept as it adds more excitement and drama to fights. With Masvidal’s willingness to defend his title again, it is clear that the ‘BMF’ belt is here to stay for the foreseeable future.
