He went head-to-head with Alan Belcher. This was the main event at Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA 7. It happened on a Friday. The prize? The promotion’s first-ever heavyweight title.
The match was brutal. Blood was spilled. Dos Santos claimed victory with a wicked TKO in the second round. The showdown took place at the Kia Center. That’s in Orlando, Florida, if you didn’t know.
Belcher was on the offensive from the get-go. He kept dos Santos on his toes, pushing him back. But dos Santos, a former UFC heavyweight champ, wasn’t fazed. He stayed cool, calculated. He waited for the perfect moment to strike.
And strike he did. The first clean hit from dos Santos left Belcher bleeding. The momentum shifted from there.

Belcher managed to get back on his feet. But it was too late. Dos Santos landed a killer blow. That was the beginning of the end. Dos Santos was crowned the heavyweight champion.
In the co-main event, there was another face-off. Chase Sherman versus Alex Nicholson. Both ex-UFC competitors. Sherman got his revenge after a decade. He won with a brutal knockout.
Nicholson started strong. But he was outmatched. He was smaller, less powerful than Sherman. It was a tough fight.
Sherman and Nicholson have history. They fought in 2014 on the regional scene. Nicholson won that round with a first-round knockout.
