Kamaru Usman believes that Jorge Masvidal does not want to fight.
Both men made appearances at the UFC 246 press conference last week and were asked about a match-up with one another. Masvidal made clear he would prefer Conor McGregor for the payday but also didn’t downplay a matchup with Usman for the welterweight title.
When Usman was asked about potential opponents he did not call out anyone in specific. Instead, he insisted that he doesn’t decide who he fights but instead he lets the UFC decide who the next toughest contender is.
On Monday, Kamaru Usman took a shot at the ‘BMF’ titleholder questioning why Masvidal has been avoiding a potential match up with him.
For all you real fans out there that know what’s up @GamebredFighter is doing everything possible to avoid taking this L @danawhite has spoken so STFU and take this ass whooping like the journeyman you are and then you can go fight Conor #OnceaBumalwaysaBum

Dana White has expressed a fight between Masvidal and Usman. In the tweet Usman expressed that Masvidal should fight him next and take on McGregor after.
The Masvidal camp was quick to respond. Masvidal’s manager Abraham Kawa fired back a response asserting Usman has an injury that will prevent him from fighting for the time being.
Both Usman and Masvidal have been taking stabs at each other for the past few months. Prior to UFC 244 upon the announcement of Nate Diaz potentially being out of the main event vs Masvidal, Usman tweeted that he would step in to fight for the ‘BMF’ belt. Masvidal responded quickly.
Wow. Even Ben can smell your bull shit @USMAN84kg all the way from Singapore stfu you p***y and go drive your face into someone’s crotch. Good luck this weekend Ben #theresurrection

Masvidal and his team have rehashed that he will fight Usman or McGregor, whoever is ready right now.
