King Green suffered a quick knockout loss to Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 313 but remains determined to continue his MMA career despite recent setbacks.
King Green took a hard hit at UFC 313, losing to Mauricio Ruffy with a jaw-dropping spinning wheel kick knockout. But guess what? He’s not ready to hang up his gloves just yet.
With 51 professional MMA fights under his belt—27 in the UFC—Green hoped to bounce back after a July 2024 submission loss to Paddy Pimblett. Sadly, for the 38-year-old, this defeat came even quicker.
“This is the game we play,” Green shared on Instagram Stories [h/t Verdict MMA]. “Wins and losses are part of it. Shout out to Ruffy—you did your thing, brother. I hope you find success ahead. Obrigado. And thanks to everyone who’s been with me through this journey. Love you all.”
Between April 2023 and April 2024, Green was on a roll—finishing Tony Ferguson and Grant Dawson, snagging a decision win over Jim Miller, though he did stumble against Jalin Turner.
Now? He’s only clinched three wins in his last nine bouts.
“Thanks for sticking by me through all this chaos,” Green said. “But we’re not done. I just need some time to get back into the groove. We’ll be back, I promise.”
