KSI is confident in his ability to succeed in influencer boxing and aims to prove himself in his upcoming fight against experienced boxer Joe Fournier.
KSI, the popular YouTuber, sees an opportunity to become the top name in influencer boxing. Following Jake Paul’s first professional loss in February, KSI lambasted his rival in a short Twitter clip. KSI has his own challenge around the corner, as he is set to fight the more experienced Joe Fournier on May 13 at Misfits Boxing 7. He acknowledged the additional attention he will receive after taunting Jake Paul and is determined to ensure a different outcome.
KSI discussed his thoughts on Jake Paul and his own upcoming fight at a Misfits Boxing press conference. He stated, “When it comes to Jake Paul, obviously I just don’t like the guy, so when he lost you saw me make a video laughing at him, etc., but I know there’s a lot of pressure on me now. I put the pressure on myself, especially doing something like that, there’s going to be a lot of eyes watching.” He added that he has worked hard on his craft and is excited to be fighting a 9-0 pro, despite starting as a YouTuber.
So far, KSI has had an eventful start to his boxing career, having fought Logan Paul twice and winning a trio of exhibition bouts by knockout. Fournier, with a 9-0 professional record, is KSI’s most seasoned competition yet. KSI believes he can avoid the same fate as Jake Paul by learning from his mistakes. He said, “I think reality kind of settled in. I think there was a lot of hype when it came to Jake Paul and then when he got pieced up by Tommy Fury, everyone realized, OK, Jake actually ain’t that good.” KSI is confident in his abilities and looks forward to proving himself in the fight against Fournier.
