YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul has publicly challenged Conor McGregor to a $1 million bet on the outcome of his fight against Dillon Danis, expressing disappointment in McGregor’s lack of response and increasing the stake to $2 million.
Logan Paul, a YouTuber turned boxer, is adamant about eliciting a response from Conor McGregor. Paul ventured into McGregor’s ambit when the latter unveiled his involvement in training Dillon Danis for a fight scheduled to take place on October 14th. Not missing a beat, Paul confidently proposed a $1 million bet with McGregor concerning the fight’s outcome earlier this month. However, McGregor has so far remained unresponsive to Paul’s overture which has left the 28-year-old WWE star somewhat perturbed.
On Andrew Schultz’s Flagrant podcast, Paul expressed his discontent. “This motherf***** kind of disappoints me, because I grew up really liking Conor McGregor,” said Paul. He pointed out McGregor’s inability to commit, his frequent drug issues, and how he does not deliver on his promises. This reflects negatively on him as a superstar in Paul’s eyes. He narrated how he’s lost the respect he once held for McGregor as he now sees him as all talk and no action. He also criticized Danis and McGregor, describing both as bad people, using the term ‘scumbags’ and affirming that Danis is an ‘evil, rotten soul.’
Moreover, Paul underscored his certainty of winning against Danis in the scheduled eight-round boxing match, which is part of the KSI vs. Fury card at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. Despite neither receiving a reply from McGregor nor a response from Danis regarding the former’s silence, Paul has alledgedly now upped his proposal to McGregor, doubling his bet to $2 million. “Conor, you know what, I’ll tell you what, I’ll tell you what Mr. Moneybags, I’m going to make this more interesting for you,” said Paul. Yet, he anticipates that he still won’t receive a response.
When questioned over his expectations of being ignored by McGregor, Paul’s response was simple and blatant, “Because he knows the outcome,”. He questioned why anyone would think that Danis has the upper hand in their upcoming fight. In his belief, no one looking at Danis’s fight history could conclude that he could outmatch him in striking.
