Logan Paul recounted a recent encounter with Conor McGregor during President Trump’s inauguration, where he and his brother Jake laughed off McGregor’s threats, reflecting on how they would have once feared the former UFC champion but now view him as a “washed up” fighter.
Logan Paul once admitted that the thought of Conor McGregor threatening him would have terrified him. But not anymore. When they recently crossed paths, things were different.
Picture this: President Donald Trump’s inauguration. A surreal scene unfolds. Logan, Jake, and McGregor find themselves on the same bus, headed to the festivities. The conversation? Future fights. McGregor casually threatens, "I’m going to slap the head off the two of you and KSI," dismissing them as "a little side job."
On his podcast, Impaulsive, Logan shares there’s a longer video of this encounter. Only a snippet was released. Watching it now, he laughs at McGregor’s threats. Years ago, when McGregor was a UFC champion, this would have been unthinkable.
"I watched back that footage," Logan says. "Conor said he’d slap me, Jake, and KSI. We laughed—full belly laughs—at what used to be one of the scariest men alive."
As a former fan of McGregor, Logan feels a twinge of sadness. Once a pioneer in crossover boxing, now reduced to this? Two YouTubers laughing at a fighter who seems washed up and unhinged.
The Paul brothers had no idea they’d share a bus with McGregor until minutes before it happened. Awkward? Could’ve been. But they decided against starting a brawl en route to an inauguration.
"They stuck us on a bus like some high school field trip," Logan quips. "We learned about McGregor’s presence last minute. It’s 7 a.m., and we’re thinking, ‘What a terrible idea.’"
A temporary peace treaty was signed for the sake of decorum at Trump’s inauguration. McGregor was respectful yet… wired. So much energy for so early in the morning.
Afterwards, at the reception? Another run-in with McGregor. Trash talk continued, simmering tensions threatening to boil over into chaos.
"It was constantly simmering," Logan reveals. "One wrong comment could’ve led to disaster."
Nobody wanted to be the person causing a scene at such an event—embarrassment for all involved.
Logan’s co-host jokes about McGregor’s fighting prowess, earning an eye-roll from the influencer-turned-WWE star.
From Logan’s perspective, McGregor isn’t maintaining his status as one of the best fighters anymore. This interaction solidified that belief.
"He’s not working because he’s not working," Logan says bluntly about McGregor’s current state. "Two YouTubers laughed in his face. His fall from grace is really sad."
