Logan Paul offered to fund a lawsuit against MMA fighter Nate Diaz for choking out his lookalike Rodney Petersen, who is pursuing legal action after sustaining injuries from the incident.
Logan Paul offered his doppelganger Rodney Petersen legal help after a street brawl left Petersen unconscious and bleeding on Bourbon Street. However, Paul revealed on his Impaulsive video podcast that Petersen had already retained counsel and was in the process of suing Nate Diaz. Paul believes Petersen will likely receive a substantial payout from the lawsuit.
The street brawl garnered attention after a clip of Diaz allegedly choking out Petersen in New Orleans went viral. Impaulsive co-host Jeff Wittek stated Petersen told him he impersonated Paul at the Misfits Boxing 6 show that Diaz attended and got into a brief water bottle-throwing melee. Paul mentioned he reached out to Petersen, who needed eight staples to close a head-wound sustained from hitting the concrete after allegedly being choked out by Diaz. Although Petersen was not entirely blameless for approaching Diaz on Bourbon Street, Paul made it clear the UFC star was in the wrong for his response.
New Orleans police issued a warrant for Diaz’s arrest on suspicion of second-degree battery, a felony charge. Diaz turned himself in to police and was quickly bonded out, with his legal team claiming his innocence and self-defense during the incident. As for Diaz’s upcoming Aug. 5 fight with Jake Paul, Logan Paul revealed that he was initially supposed to fight the UFC star before his younger brother got the opportunity. Despite the altercation with his lookalike, Paul doesn’t believe Diaz’s court case will impact the upcoming fight. On the same night Diaz faces Jake Paul, Logan may be performing in the WWE ring for the pro-wrestling promotion’s SummerSlam event, referring to Aug. 5 as a “crazy night for the Pauls” and urging Jake to win.
