Logan Paul has offered to pay the legal bills of the man who was put in a chokehold by Nate Diaz, mistaking him for Logan, on the streets of New Orleans.
In a recent development in the aftermath of a highly-publicized MMA incident, Logan Paul has offered to pay the legal expenses of the victim who bore an uncanny resemblance to the popular YouTuber. Last month, Nate Diaz was caught on video putting Rodney Petersen, who looked like Logan Paul, in a chokehold and rendering him unconscious on the streets of New Orleans. Diaz was subsequently issued an arrest warrant and may be facing a lawsuit for the attack. Petersen has already retained legal representation, and Paul has indicated his willingness to assist with the costs.
On his Impaulsive video podcast, Paul shared his disbelief at the bizarre turn of events. He joked about the victim getting “fast-tracked” to being choked out by Diaz – a professional MMA fighter – simply because he looked like him. However, Paul also suggested that Petersen bore some responsibility for the altercation, since he was walking towards Diaz shortly before the attack. Paul reasoned that Diaz may have perceived Petersen as a threat and acted aggressively in response.
It is unclear if Paul’s offer of financial assistance has been accepted by Petersen or if Diaz plans to counter-sue. Interestingly, Diaz is scheduled to fight against Jake Paul, Logan’s brother, in an upcoming match. The incident has sparked a great deal of buzz within the MMA community, with many debating the appropriate legal repercussions for Diaz’s actions. Regardless of the outcome of the lawsuit, one thing is certain – Petersen’s resemblance to Logan Paul has thrust him into the national spotlight and brought about unexpected consequences.
