Malcolm Wellmaker secured his first UFC victory with a swift right hook knockout against Cameron Saaiman in less than two minutes at UFC Kansas City, continuing his undefeated record.
Malcolm Wellmaker’s right hand? It’s a game-changer. First, it got him a UFC contract. Now, it’s given him his first UFC victory.
At 30, Wellmaker made his octagon debut in style. Saturday, at UFC Kansas City, he needed less than two minutes to floor Cameron Saaiman with a right hook. Impressive, right?
Check out the fast finish below.
From the get-go, Wellmaker was on the attack. He cut off the cage, hunting Saaiman down. Saaiman tried to fight back, but Wellmaker slipped his punch and countered. Bam! Right on the chin. Saaiman hit the canvas hard.
The fight ended just 1:59 into Round 1.
This isn’t new for Wellmaker. His contract came from a similar finish on Dana White’s Contender Series. Last August, he took out Adam Bramhald in 2:29 with—you guessed it—a right hook. “The Machine” is now 9-0 as a pro.
Meanwhile, Saaiman’s on a downward spiral. After starting 3-0 in the UFC, he’s now lost three in a row. Ouch.
