Mark Coleman Hospitalized Again for Pneumonia, Maintains Energetic Spirit

UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman was re-admitted to hospital with pneumonia and numbness in his arms and chest, just days after escaping a house fire at his parents’ home, where he suffered severe smoke inhalation.

Mark Coleman, a UFC Hall of Famer, is still battling health issues. But he’s keeping his spirits high.

His daughter, Kenzie, recently posted an update on Instagram. She revealed that Coleman was back in a Toledo, Ohio, hospital after experiencing numbness in his arms and chest pain.

The diagnosis? Pneumonia. This comes just three days after Coleman narrowly escaped a house fire, saving his parents in the process.

Kenzie shared a video of her dad, bedridden but still full of life. “Despite all of this he is still his same positive, spunky, spitfire self,” she wrote. She added that Coleman is grateful for the outpouring of support during this challenging time.

The former UFC heavyweight champ had a close call with the house fire. He suffered severe smoke inhalation and had to be airlifted to the hospital. His friends feared the worst. But the next day, he was breathing independently and seemed to be recovering. There was even a heartwarming moment captured on camera when his daughters visited him in the hospital.

In a video attached to Kenzie’s post, Coleman said, “Feeling a little rough today, but we’ll be alright, because I’m still sober.” He added, “Love you guys. I’ve got to get training, they won’t let me out of bed.”

To help with the mounting medical costs, Coleman’s family has started a GoFundMe. Kenzie promised to take the best care of her dad, describing him as “the true definition of a fighter” and “strength like no other.” She even joked, “Sometimes I even think he’s a superhuman.”

“He loves you all so much,” Kenzie wrote. “He always says without his supporters he’s nothing. It feels good to be home with my daddy. Please continue to pray for his healing and health during this recovery process.”

In recent years, Coleman has overcome personal battles, including alcoholism. He’s even back in training, acting as a coach and mentor to UFC welterweight Matt Brown. There’s even a rumor that he’s in the running for a slap fight with ex-UFC champ Tim Sylvia.
