Mark Hunt Slams Dana White as ‘Scumbag Gutterdog’ in Wake of UFC-USADA Split

Former UFC heavyweight contender Mark Hunt expressed distrust and harshly criticized UFC CEO Dana White on social media following the news that the UFC will no longer work with the USADA for its anti-doping program, implying that the timing of the decision was advantageous for the UFC and questioning the handling of drug testing in relation to the return of Conor McGregor and his own lawsuit against the UFC and Brock Lesnar.

Former UFC heavyweight contender Mark Hunt expressed his dissatisfaction with UFC CEO Dana White in a social media post following the announcement that the UFC will be ending its partnership with the USADA for its anti-doping program, effective January 1, 2024. Hunt, who has had a contentious relationship with White since 2017 when he filed a lawsuit against the UFC, criticized the decision and questioned White’s ability to handle the situation professionally.

In his Instagram post, Hunt stated that he believed the UFC and White would not last for more than a year, accusing them of mistreating fighters and their families. He further referred to White as a “scumbag gutterdog” and a “worthless mutt.” Hunt also raised suspicions about the timing of the UFC-USADA split, suggesting that it conveniently occurred after the dismissal of his lawsuit and just before the anticipated return of UFC superstar Conor McGregor, whose drug-testing status has been a topic of controversy.

Hunt’s lawsuit against the UFC, Brock Lesnar (his 2016 opponent at UFC 200), and the promotion itself included allegations of racketeering, fraud, and breach of contract. He claimed that the UFC knowingly allowed Lesnar to use performance-enhancing drugs before their fight, which resulted in Lesnar’s victory being overturned to a no-contest after he failed a drug test. However, the lawsuit was recently dismissed by U.S. District Judge of Nevada Jennifer A. Dorsey, as Hunt was unable to provide conclusive evidence of collusion or intentional deception by the parties involved.

Despite the dismissal of his case, Hunt’s animosity towards White and the UFC seems to persist, as he publicly voiced his skepticism regarding the change in the organization’s anti-doping program and raised questions about their integrity. The ongoing feud between Hunt and White reflects the underlying tension and concerns surrounding drug testing in professional mixed martial arts.
