Michael Bisping Claims Jon Jones Can’t Compete with Tom Aspinall, Predicts Similar Loss as Marcin Tybura

Former MMA fighter Michael Bisping has stated that he believes Tom Aspinall has the potential to beat current UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, following Aspinall’s impressive performance in UFC London.

Michael Bisping, a reputable name in the world of mixed martial arts, believes he’s seen a promising future champ in Tom Aspinall. After yet another applaudable performance at UFC London, Bisping seems convinced that Aspinall is well equipped to become the first man to triumph over Jon Jones in a legitimate fistfight. Bisping expresses his praise in an interview with Sky Sports, describing Aspinall’s performance at the UFC event as being “utterly fantastic.” Aspinall’s victory against Marcin Tybura, a formidable player who has won seven out of his last eight matches, was no mean feat, says Bisping.

According to Bisping, Aspinall’s previous performances are strong indicators that he could very well become a future world champion, barring any unforeseen mishaps or injuries. Despite acknowledging Jon Jones as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, Bisping seems firm in his belief that Aspinall could even outshine Jones. As per Bisping, Aspinall’s prowess as a fighter is so great that it eclipses the skillset of some of the most renowned fighters in the arena, including Jones himself. The predictions are bold, but Bisping appears to have unwavering faith in Aspinall’s potential.

In recent developments, Aspinall put up an exceptional show of strength and skill during his match at UFC London, emerging victorious against Tybura in just 73 seconds. Aspinall’s impressive performance at the event raised his overall UFC record to 6-1, his single loss the result of a knee injury early into his 2022 fight against Curtis Blaydes. Meanwhile, Jon Jones remains the current UFC heavyweight champion after defeating Ciryl Gane in March at UFC 285, further setting up the stage for an anticipated face-off with Stipe Miocic at UFC 295.

While Bisping acknowledges that Aspinall has yet to demonstrate his potential against the top-tier players within the heavyweight division, he remains optimistic about Aspinall holding his own and coming out on top. Talking about his capabilities, Bisping hints at Aspinall’s unwavering mental strength and ability to bounce back stronger from every challenge. Lastly, Bisping suggests that Aspinall should be the one to fight against the winner of the upcoming match between Miocic and Jones or, alternately, go up against Sergei Pavlovich.
