Mike Perry defeated former bare-knuckle champion Thiago Alves in a 60-second knockout at BKFC KnuckleMania 4, marking his fifth win in bare-knuckle boxing.
Mike Perry isn’t one for overtime. He’s not paid by the hour, after all.
Saturday night saw the “King of Violence” shine. He polished his crown with a fiery 60-second knockout. His victim? Former bare-knuckle champ Thiago Alves. The event? BKFC KnuckleMania 4, straight from Los Angeles.
Perry’s toughest fight to date, they said. But he walked through Alves like it was nothing. He stormed out, throwing bombs at the American Top Team veteran from the get-go. Alves? He couldn’t find his rhythm. Perry was all over him, every punch a potential knockout.
Alves backed towards the ropes. Perry unleashed hell. A brutal left hand blasted the Brazilian to the ground.
Alves tried to get up. He beat the 10-count from referee Dan Miragliotta. But when asked to prove he was ready to continue, Alves was shaky. That was all it took to end the fight.
Perry was already celebrating. He moved to a 5-0 record in bare-knuckle boxing. His third straight stoppage, after taking down Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez.
“My easiest fight yet,” Perry roared after the win. “I’m the undisputed king of bare-knuckle. I’m No. 1 pound-for-pound. F*ck anyone who thinks differently. I’m the king in this bitch.”
He added, “Come and see me, bro. You want the smoke, the money? I want all the smoke and all the money!”
Perry’s latest win cements him as the face of BKFC. The biggest draw in the promotion. But who’s next? He’s got an idea.
“Darren Till, you fat f*cking bitch, get over here. Or I’ll come to the U.K,” Perry said. “Nate Diaz got a fight with Jorge Masvidal, some east coast versus west coast shit. Let’s throw hands. I’d have asked for a faceoff but he’d have told me to square off with myself, so shout out to him.”
Before Saturday, Perry claimed Till turned down a $2 million offer to fight him. This was after years of teasing a fight since their UFC days.
Diaz was at the BKFC card on Saturday. But he’s got his own fight coming up with Masvidal.
But Perry might get some star power for his next fight. Conor McGregor is now part owner of BKFC. With McGregor’s pull and attention, Perry might get Till or another big name to face him in BKFC this year.
