Mike Perry Ready to Step In for Dillon Danis in Logan Paul Fight

If Dillon Danis fails to show up for his scheduled fight against Logan Paul in October, MMA fighter Mike Perry is set to replace him as the official backup.

In the event that Dillon Danis is a no-show for his slated fight against Logan Paul this coming October, Mike Perry is all set to step in as his replacement. This was apparently announced during an eventful pre-bout press conference, held to promote a match card headlined by KSI and Tommy Fury. The UFC veteran and current Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) star, Perry, is now officially the back-up for the co-main event wherein Danis is expected to fight for the first time in four years. It’s worth noting that Danis had, earlier, been billed to fight KSI but had eventually pulled out of the card a few weeks prior to the event.

To avert the risk of such a last-minute withdrawal repeating itself, Perry has been retained as a back-up to potentially face off against Paul. During the event, Perry, with staunch determination shared, “I’m a real fighter, This is what I do. This is how I feed my family. These boys been getting money way other ways. They want some respect in this game so they called me here. If Dillon doesn’t show up, I’m ready to fight.” He assured his fans and others that getting him on the card guaranteed fight spectators would get what they wished for.

Perry, who recently penned a multi-fight agreement to keep his association with BKFC alive, will be acting as a backup for the second time in the year 2023. He was earlier hired as a potential opponent for Jake Paul or Tommy Fury when the duo were set to clash in the month of February. The fight eventually took place, and since it was a split decision win for Fury, Perry’s backup services were as such, not utilized. This time, however, Perry will stay prepared in case Danis neglects to show up for his fight with Paul. In an interview, Perry shared about his constant state of readiness to fight, irrespective of the weight class of his competitors.

While Perry has been earning through bare-knuckle fighting lately, it’s notable that he had scored a split decision win over pro boxer Michael Seals in a boxing-MMA hybrid fight organized by Triller back in 2021. It continues to be uncertain if Perry’s services will be called upon this time, with Paul openly mocking Danis at the press conference for a gap of over 1,000 days between his fights. Perry, however, seems ready to fight Paul or, for that matter, any other MMA-to-boxing crossover fighter in the near future. Moreover, he didn’t shy away from indirectly calling out Anthony Taylor, who Perry shared has been speaking ill about his skills online. Perry has taken this as a challenge and is all set to prove his mettle.
