Nate Diaz Criticizes Dana White’s BMF Title Tournament Proposal

Nate Diaz is interested in a “BMF” title tournament but disagrees with including Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje, preferring Dana White, Dan Hooker, and Max Holloway as contenders.

Nate Diaz seems pretty into the idea of a “BMF” title tournament. But, he’s not thrilled with all the names being tossed around.

In a chat with Sirius XM, Dustin Poirier mentioned he’d be down for a one-night tournament for the belt. This would include past rivals like Justin Gaethje, Dan Hooker, and current champ Max Holloway.

Diaz is on board with including Holloway and Hooker. However, he thinks Poirier and Gaethje shouldn’t be in the mix. He made his feelings known through an Instagram story.

“Dana White, Dan, and Max are eligible for my belt but get the other two nerds out of there, they don’t fit the description,” Diaz wrote. Classic Nate.

Dana White was asked about this whole concept after the latest Dana White Contender Series event in Vegas. His take? “Sounds fun,” he said. “Never thought about it but yeah, I love it.”

Since finishing his UFC contract, Diaz has tried his luck in boxing twice. He lost to Jake Paul in August 2023 but snagged a win over Jorge Masvidal by majority decision in July.

Remember when Diaz and Masvidal clashed for the first-ever BMF title back in November 2019? Masvidal took that one home via doctor’s stoppage TKO at UFC 244’s main event. Ah, memories!
