Bellator London has a new main event featuring Leah McCourt vs. Sara Collins after the middleweight title bout between Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards was canceled, with the Eblen-Edwards rematch expected to be rescheduled soon.
Bellator London has a new main event.
The featherweight tilt between Leah McCourt and Sara Collins has been moved up. This change follows the cancellation of the middleweight title bout between champion Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards due to undisclosed reasons, the promotion announced Tuesday.
The Eblen vs. Edwards rematch is expected to have a new date announced in the coming days. The company shared this update on social media. Originally serving as the co-main event, McCourt-Collins now headlines, with Simeon Powell vs. Rafael Xavier taking the co-main spot for the Sept. 14 event.
McCourt (8-3) enters the cage aiming to build a winning streak. She secured a victory over Sara McMann in November 2023, stopping the one-time UFC title contender with punches late in round one, improving her record to 7-2 inside the Bellator cage.
Collins (5-0) remains undefeated as a professional MMA fighter. Her Bellator debut in March 2023 saw her achieve a first-round submission over Pam Sorenson, followed by a split decision win against Sinead Kavanagh six months later.
Bellator Champions Series: London will take place at the OVO Arena and air live on MAX. Additionally, Eman Almudhaf vs. Daiane da Silva has been added to the card, with Joseph Luciano replacing Ross Houston versus Steven Hill. Check out the updated lineup below.
