Nick Ball successfully defended his WBA featherweight title against TJ Doheny in Liverpool, overcoming an early altercation where he kicked Doheny after the bell, and ultimately winning by stoppage before the 11th round to maintain his undefeated record.
Nick Ball might wanna think about diving into MMA. Seriously.
Saturday night was wild. Ball defended his WBA featherweight title against TJ Doheny at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool. Things nearly went haywire early on. After a spirited first round, both fighters ended up tangled in a corner. Then, chaos! After the bell, Doheny held onto a headlock for just a few extra seconds. Apparently, Ball didn’t appreciate that. Once free, he fired a short kick right into Doheny’s legs—down he went!
Check out the bizarre scene below. It’s something else.
In the end, the referee decided not to disqualify Ball or even deduct a point. The bout resumed as if nothing happened. And guess what? Ball took over, dominating most of the fight. He pummeled Doheny for nine more rounds before stopping him just before the 11th round.
With this win, Ball moved to an impressive 22-0-1 in his career. Not too shabby!
