Nina Agdal’s Lawyers: Dillon Danis Likely Destroyed Phone to Hide Evidence

Nina Agdal’s attorneys accused Dillon Danis of intentionally damaging his cell phone to obstruct evidence collection in a lawsuit where Agdal claims Danis repeatedly posted harmful content about her, including a sexually explicit image, and are seeking court-ordered sanctions and reimbursement for forensic examination expenses.

Nina Agdal’s legal team recently submitted a letter to the court. They allege that Dillon Danis might have intentionally damaged his own cell phone. Why? To prevent crucial evidence from surfacing in an ongoing lawsuit.

Agdal, who’s both a model and social influencer, is dating Logan Paul. She took legal action against Danis in 2023, accusing him of posting “despicable” content about her over 250 times. This all started after a boxing match between Danis and Paul was announced.

The posts allegedly caused Agdal significant “humiliation, emotional distress, and reputational harm.” One post reportedly included a sexually explicit image from a “romantic encounter” over a decade ago, which she claims violates both federal and state laws.

After much legal wrangling, Danis finally handed over his phone for examination. But Agdal’s attorneys suspect foul play, suggesting he deliberately damaged the device before submission.

In their letter to Judge Michael Hammer, Agdal’s lawyers stated that an independent forensic specialist inspected Danis’s phone. The findings? It’s likely the phone was intentionally rendered inoperable to destroy electronically stored information (ESI) vital to the case.

They’re now urging the court to make Danis cover the costs of completing a forensic examination. So far, Agdal has already spent over $5,000 on forensic expenses. Seems only fair, right?

The attorneys argue that Danis used this phone exclusively to post about Agdal and even text others about his harassing behavior. Yet, Danis denied these actions under oath.

A forensic expert found that the charging port was “rendered inoperable,” contradicting Danis’ testimony. He claimed the phone died after a sauna session followed by a failed charging attempt.

The expert’s opinion? It seems highly probable that Danis isn’t being truthful about how his phone got damaged.

Despite hopes of retrieving more data from the phone, Agdal faces mounting costs—up to $23,500—to recover any potential data.

Danis’ lawyers argue against these expenses, pointing out that the lawsuit involves a photo posted on Twitter. They claim it was taken by Agdal’s former boyfriend and later shared online with other nude images of her.

They also contend that Danis primarily communicated through messaging apps—not email or text—and that Agdal’s attorneys already have access to his Twitter, WhatsApp, and Facebook messages.

“There’s no evidence of substantial value on [Danis’s] non-functioning mobile telephone,” wrote Danis’ attorneys.

Agdal’s letter was filed on December 4th. The judge has yet to make any ruling on this matter.

Agdal seeks unspecified damages in her lawsuit against Danis. She requests at least $150,000 per violation of federal law prohibiting the sharing of intimate images.
